Whether on Google, TripAdvisor or Booking.com. Wherever you look at guest reviews of their stay at BüllsPort Lodge & Farm, you’ll find top marks. As reporting this in our news might sound like self-praise, we’ve engaged an independent guest author…
“BüllsPort Lodge & Farm reviews are overwhelmingly positive, highlighting its welcoming, family-run atmosphere, excellent hiking (especially Quiver Tree Gorge), well-appointed & spacious rooms, delicious farm-fresh food, and opportunities for horse riding, making it a peaceful, authentic Namibian farm stay experience despite its remote gravel-road access.
Guests love the friendly owners (Johanna & Ernst) and staff, relaxed vibe, and the chance to see wildlife like kudu and mountain zebras on trails directly from the farm, though some note winter can be cold.
Key Positive Themes:
Hospitality: Owners and staff are consistently described as friendly, welcoming, helpful, and creating a family atmosphere.
Activities: Excellent, well-marked hiking trails (Quiver Tree Gorge is a highlight), and horse riding (even for beginners) are popular.
Atmosphere: Relaxed, peaceful, authentic farm feel with a homely touch.
Accommodation: Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms with good amenities, often with verandahs.
Food: Delicious, often farm-produced, with communal dining enhancing the experience.
Things to Note:
Location: It’s remote, requiring significant driving on gravel roads (2.5+ hrs from main road), but this adds to the wilderness feel.
Seasonality: Can be very cold in winter; wildlife sightings in lower areas might vary.
Style: A simpler, owner-run lodge rather than a formal hotel, which guests generally love but is a different style from larger lodges.
Overall Sentiment:
Guests highly recommend BüllsPort for its combination of natural beauty, activities, and warm, personal service, often wishing they had stayed longer.”

Thank you very much, Google AI, for this report. We have just a few brief comments to add.
All rooms have their own private veranda. They also feature air conditioning and free Wi-Fi (see our ‘Lodge’ page). For those who want to stay close to nature, there’s a small campsite in our private nature reserve in the Naukluft Mountains.
A note about horseback riding (also for beginners): Please book in advance. The horses often graze freely in the veld, so it takes time to retrieve them. We aim to provide each guest with the horse that best suits them (more information under ‘Riding’).
The wildlife at BüllsPort Lodge & Farm includes around 50 species of mammals alone (see our ‘NAUKLUFT’ section). Birdwatchers will find almost a third of the 690 bird species sighted in Namibia here (see news article).
On the review portal TripAdvisor, BüllsPort’s average rating from 126 reviews is the same as on Google: 4.5 out of 5 stars. On Booking.com guests express similarly positive feedback.
