Good news for NAUkLuFT fans from abroad: When preparing their Namibia trip, they no longer need to think about proof of vaccination or PCR test. At least Namibian immigration officials do not ask for it anymore. Additionally, on flights from Frankfurt, one of the last Corona measures is no longer required as of today…
Namibia has cancelled its Corona-related regulations for entry at the end of August. Until then you had to present proof of vaccination or recovery or a negative PCR test. Today, there are only a few countries worldwide with restrictions (see info page of the International Air Transport Association (IATA)).
No more mask
On flights from Germany to Namibia you no longer need to wear a respiratory mask. This is the result of the German Infection Protection Act, which comes into effect today. The obligation to wear a mask on airplanes is abolished. The reason: Aircraft have efficient ventilation and filter systems. Passengers who still want to protect themselves, including from flu viruses, can of course do so.
Currently, Eurowings Discover is the only airline offering direct flights from Europe to Namibia. They fly ten times a week from Frankfurt to Windhoek.
In addition, there are flights by Ethiopean Airlines via Addis Ababa and by Qatar Airways via Doha. You can also get to Namibia via Johannesburg.
